Raster Analysis Using Python – Planet
The course walks attendees through the methodologies for displaying and applying visual enhancements to raster data. Attendees will then be introduced to raster calculation methodologies for working with multispectral data, subsetting data, applying data masks, and performing change detection analysis. Finally, the course will walk through methods of extracting statistical information from raster datasets and sharing the results via Jupyter notebooks and exports suitable for use in standard GIS software suites.
Applying National Security GEOINT Essential Techniques and Workflows to Homeland Security Emergency Response Scenarios – Textron Systems Geospatial Solutions
This course will use a disaster response scenario to demonstrate these skill sets outlined in USGIF’s Essential Body of Knowledge. The 2017 Oroville Dam crisis provides an ideal case study for how GEOINT techniques can be applied to prepare, respond, recover, and mitigate potential disasters. This course’s scenario-based training will allow participants to see workflows in action, using advanced GEOINT techniques and skills to collect, process, exploit and distribute/share collected GEOINT.
Conflating New Vector Data Into Legacy Data Layers – L3Harris Technologies
This course will introduce the issues and potential solutions involved with fusing datasets which may have been created at different times and with different levels of precision. Participants will learn about procedures for matching and transforming data and will be given overviews of toolsets that exist for automated conflation processing. This course will employ use scenarios involving commonly used vector data features such as roads and utility lines. Attendees will learn methods of choosing the appropriate conflation and validation processes for different types of features.
Building Interoperable Spatial Data Infrastructures with GeoServer and MapStore – GeoSolutions
The training will provide attendees with an introduction to the GeoServer and MapStore functionalities with insights on the future evolutions. The goal of this training is to introduce and describe the free and open source products GeoServer and MapStore to demonstrate how they can be used to create enterprise spatial data Infrastructures built on open source components and leveraging on public standards both de-facto (e.g. GeoJSON) as well as internationally recognized (e.g. OGC standards like WMS and WFS). It is recommended attendees bring their laptop and pre-install GeoSolutions.
Leveraging GO: A Machine Learning Platform for Automated GEOINT Trend Analysis – Orbital Insight
This training session provides foundational and application-level emerging competencies in neural networks and artificial intelligence. Participants will be able to refine machine learning techniques, data mining, and statistical algorithms to detect patterns of life and anomalies through multi-sensor fusion and feature extraction. In the application phase, course participants will understand how to augment existing GEOINT workflows through automated data creation, gaining a clearer understanding of the best practices for supervised and unsupervised machine learning.
Mission Focused Big Data Discovery & Exploration with MapLarge – MapLarge
Big Data Discovery & Exploration is becoming a core analytic workflow that will enable dynamically evolving advanced mission use cases. This training will utilize similar capability to the operationally deployed SOM Discovery and Mission Data Plugins within NGA’s Map of the World to show users how they can discover and explore big data content today. This training will teach users how they can use the available vector-based Enterprise data sources in combination with their own big data sources to discover patterns and visualize trends. Additionally, this training will dive into building custom workflows for the big data that encapsulates analytic tradecraft for Analyst Augmentation and Automation (AAA).
